Temporary Stars



there are people in our lives

ones we think we’ll know forever

amazing friends and heroes we look up to

but occasionaly they change

or dissapear

leaving us alone in their wake

and i’ve come to the conclusion

thats how it was always meant to be

these people come into our lives when we need them most

putting us back on track with our lives

or simply guiding us in a new direction

and even though we grow attached

were never meant to stay

like temporary stars floating in the winter sky

giving us a moment of light and warmth when we need it

the problem with this is that we can never tell till its too late

who is gonna burn out and leave us alone

fumbeling in the dark

but it is this absence that gives us that final drive

making us truly aware of our surroundings

no more looking up

only forward

in this new direction we’ve been given
